General 

 

 

1. At NuEpoca, we want to understand an artist’s vision in its entirety. In either the email or document, include the inspiration behind the piece, its emotional significance, the process of creating it, and/or anything else you would like us to know about the submission! This is optional and may be included with your submission in publication.

2. Although we will proof read each submission, submissions should not have outstanding grammatical and/or syntax errors. 

 

Formatting

 

 

1. Include full name on email and document. A pen name is fine. 

2. No specific font is required, but the font should be easily legible. If you would like a specific style of font used for your submission, mention that in the email. 

3. Use single spaced, 1 inch margins, and font size 11-14 pt. 

4. Submit either a word document or a google document to nuepoca@gmail.com. 

5. The header of the email should be your full name/Poetry(# of submissions) Example: Jane Doe/Poetry(5) 

6. Each separate submission should be clearly labeled and be in separate documents. 

7. Illustrations/photographs should be included in the email in png or pdf format. Contact us if you would like to use a different format. 

8. Include any trigger warnings in the body if necessary. 

 

Restrictions 

 

 

1. No submissions that purposefully discriminate against a specific group of people with no rhetorical/literary value and are intended to spur hate against specified groups. 

2. No submissions that target specific individuals and resemble harassment/bullying. 

3. No submissions that have recently been published by another journal unless it is a substantially different version. Examples of substantially different pieces: first drafts(before edited for publication), revised drafts, uncensored drafts, etc. 

4. Submissions can not exceed 3 pages.  

5. No more than six submissions per category.
